SOME CONTEXT
hi, i’m mehek
i fell in love with design by just playing around in figma during the first year of my engineering degree
and being a crafty kid since my inception, the shoe did feel very fitting for this cinderella
within few months, the internet and a few kind people gave me my first break and trusted me to with their visual brand comms, and there, seeing other designers do all sorts of fun on an infinite canvas which now i also was a part of, i knew i had to get in, however which way i could, so i took a break, taught myself fundamentals of design from the internet, signed up for a cohort called 10kdesigners, met some very cool people doing what i aspired to do all while i landed this opportunity where i was helping a DePIN project with design: product, websites, marketing, all areas that involved design
in the meanwhile i also did help some projects with branding and product, finding myself in the middle of these two very subsets of design that was dabbling with since i started and then, somebody pointed out at how i’m good at brand focused product design
and fast forward to an year and i was working with a web3 agency called dacoit design. when i started, i was working on a web app - integrating brand into the product, but soon after, i took up the challenge of designing brands from scratch, from prepping the questionnaire to brand workshop and setting up the process that fits the project, and doing multiple drafts and options of different concepts. within an year and a few brands in (euphoria, full sail, catalysis, coins.me, nika finance), it became a part of my muscle memory.
and the 18yo who found marketing design limiting and wanted to design apps and websites, now designs the positioning and guidelines for brands while also designing apps that are cohesive. full circle if you ask me.
OUTSIDE OF WORK
i am a creature of many hobbies
i love doing flower arrangements every week and having fresh colors and fragrance in my home
i play with clay often enough, its my version of touching grass
i'm born in the right gen, i love fit checks, and global cuisiones
i hate plastic and polyester and try to avoid as much as i can
i make my own jewellery sometimes
i painted a lot when i was a kid, the frequnecy is questionable as an adult though
i love lamps, different height, different warmths, very intriguied by layering of lights
im weirdly into fabrics, currently obsessed with madras checks
i love practising fashion and observing fashion
